Contactology is a specialty of Optometry which aims at the design, manufacture and adaptation of the contact lens (CL) most suitable depending on the results of optometric examination. This specificity has been recognized by the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) in 1945, and requires the Optometrist you want to adapt LC has specific training. The LC are also widely used as a therapeutic aid in several pathologies of the eye's anterior segment and the same type of functional abnormalities, such as amblipia or difficulties in color vision.
